Here's my latest sculpt, it's a bust of Prinzess Victoria Luise of Prussia, the only daughter of Kaiser Wilhelm 11. She was 19 when the picture was taken in 1911 and is dressed in the uniform of the Death Head Hussars.
She was the mother of Queen Frederika of Greece and the Grandmother of King Constantine of Greece and Queen Sofia of Spain. She died in 1980 at the age of 88.
I welcome all comments and critique and many thanks for looking.
    Cheers Ken

    New sculpt

    Ken ,
This is a nice start , and a great subject , looking forward to see how you treat the lacework on the uniforms , are you going to include the cuff decoration as well perhaps .

IF this is going to be a commercial release, I am a very happy boy, if not bummer! Great looking sculpt BTW.

I had a look at this on Tuesday, and I can say that it's excellent. Just the dreaded braid now Ken.

Very interesting project Ken, I'm looking forward to see it develop. Contrast between the soft girlish face and the imposing headdress makes for a nice subject!
    Keep them coming!

    cheers,

    Hi Ken,

You are carving out a niche for yourself doing these wonderful character busts and definitely doing subjects that are outside the square. Great work on the face mate. The braiding on the uniform looks quite difficult but I have no doubt you'll crack it.

    Ken,

I like the subject you've chosen. I hope you don't mind me chiming in, but I noticed some asymmetry in the face. You may want to add a little more volume to the left jaw line to make it match the right. I guess it's most obvious in picture from the front. Check the sculpt in the mirror. I find this helps me see asymmetry issues as well.

    Keep up the nice work!

Very nice start and nice subject. To me, it appears the eyes need to be slightly more squinted, and a little closer together. Its a difficult comparison, though. Good work.

Another nice photo of her in that same uniform.

Carl, Cheers mate, I've never done braidwork before, so may take a while.
