    Hi All
Been working on the new Yury Serebrykov Viking bust the past week. Put a few more hours in on the flesh today and some work on the green of the cloak. Still a long way to go yet with the beard, hair, chain mail and fur but I am fairly pleased with how it is going. This is only the second bust that I have ever painted so it has been quite an interesting challenge.

All painted in Humbrol enamels and oils, any comments on improvement will be much appreciated.

I am going with the four section scull cap for the head wear.

Pictures can also be seen in the “Workbench” section of my web site.

Tommi this looks stellar. All of your work is incredible but this is destined to be my fav that you have done. I also have this bust on order, is it as fun to paint as it looks?

for my opinion this is the best viking bust on the market today, it has a face with a lot of character and it has to be very amusing to paint. i like your idea to show a viking different from the conventional with blond hair and also the dark flesh tones you are choosing are something new but pleasant for my taste, very well done the eyes and good colour choice for the mantle, will follow with interest (y)

For one thing you picked an excellent bust to work on. So much character
in the face. And in your skilled hands everything is really coming to life
Just a fantastic rendering on the face.

Many thanks guys for your kind words on my work, I am really enjoying this one. Hope to get some more work done on it this week. Still a little uncertain which head wear to go for? Would be nice to get this finished soon as I just got some commission pieces land on my door step this morning that will need to be started very soon.
Paul, no problem with facebook mate, I don’t go on there that often.
Xenofon, I will post my oils colour mix when I get home from work tonight.
    Cheers
    Tommi
