    Ciao,
It is slowly coming to the end , just the last touches and for my taste it will be ok. painted with oils . 90 mm .

little historical introduction : the Cimbri were with the Teutones a mix of german and celtic people from northern Europe who suddenly in the 112 B.C. migrated trough the Gaul and after several victories over the romans they were finally defeated by Marius at Aquae Sextiae in 101 B.C. Plutarch in his " Fall of the roman republic " describes Cimbrian cavarly at Vercellae as wearing helmets like the gape -jawed heads of terrible beasts.. the helmet of the figure is from the burial of Ciumesti in Romania it has a raven crest with mobile wings that would flap when the warrior is in violent motion, we can see this type of helmets also in the Gundestrup cauldron .
Not far from my town near Asiago village and in the Cansiglio there are still the Cimbri ..( the great-great-grandson obviously :D ) probably some of them after the defeat of Aquae Sextiae settled in these pacific hills and nowadays they are called Cimbri and their own dialect has a lot of very ancient germanic words .

    Hi Stefano,

I think this is beautful. You've done a tremendous job on the horse and rider, and the horse hair looks very nice, although the hair on the horses neck should run with the shape of the neck, rather than straight up and down. The shield and metallics are outstanding

    Oh Stephano:

Oh my yes, I do remember this equestrian figure you were working on. I had
commented about how much I like the horizontal greenish stripes on his
    "pants".

What you have done here is just remarkable. You have a very interesting
palette, your choice of colours and shades, tones, are slightly different
than what we usually see here on PF. And I see that as a big positive. It is
like this kind of colouration is your signature, that when people see one of
your presentations, they immediately realize it is YOUR WORK.

I also see that as a positive. A very distinctive way of painting. I just love
it. That horse and the way you delineated it is wonderful. Congratulations
    on a superb presentation. Wow. . . . (y)(y)(y)(y)
