This one will be released under the Minuteman Models moniker (sister company to Tiger Models owned by Jose T. Rodriguez). It depicts a mountain man of the 1800's in a 200MM bust. It is a very clean sculpt and I've learned you can add quite a bit of artistic license since there are no real guidelines to colors! Minute Man Models will launch their own website very very soon. The address will be www.minutemanmodels.com. They also have 2 more new figures scheduled to be released shortly a 120MM U.S. medic Normandy era and to my excitement a 120MM U.S. Marine of the early 1800's. Thanks to those who helped me out with some interesting color plates and reference for this bust it was a fun little project and thanks to Jose Rodriguez for allowing me to paint the boxart. Bust is painted as always in Vallejo acrylics.

This is interesting. I know the sculptor but have never heard of this company. The original was a full figure that was also made available as a bust by a resin manufacturer in Rochester who specialized in ship models. Nice to see that it will be available again, hopefully in a broader availability than before. A friend of mine is painting an old casting of this right now during our Monday Night Model and Bull Sessions.

    Hello there

The complete figure of this Colonial Ranger was a 200mm figure released by the old company "Commander Models". Commander Models stopped making it a long time ago.

I purchased the moulds from the old owner and created a new company along with master sculpter David P Ackerman the original creator.

The new figure company is called "Minuteman Models". We will be offering many new unique releases. The bust was created from the 200mm full figure by me (Jose.T.Rodriguez).

The new web site will be http://www.minutemanmodels.com

Hope this explains the history behind the figure and thank you for your interest. Please have your friend contact me at tigerdio@bestweb.net as I would like to have photos of the completed figure he is painting.

    Cheers,
    Jose.T.Rodriguez

    Thanks Nap...

I'm afraid I can only take credit for the painting and not the sculpting. Thanks again!

    Jose...

Let me know if there are any castings left of the original full figure as I'd really really like to have one to paint.
