    Hi all,
Now i have finally almost finished this figure only few touches and weathering and i think it would be ok. It is a 90 mm but smaller than the usual 90 mm figures that because it is a really 90mm . The figure sculpted by Joachim Lindman for Pagan Art rapresents a viking berserker, better in my opinion ulfhednar ( dressed with a wolf skin ), the berserker is dressed with a bear skin , a mythical viking era fighters connected with the odin cult and for that they believed themselves to have almost supernatural powers. they are mostly told in the icelandic sagas , some historians believe they assumed drugs for example from mushrooms ( Amanita Muscaria ) to increase their ferocity in the battle , others think they were more likely elite fighters that inspired the myth and they fought around the king and other great men .

What a really awesome figure. Your painting is superb, I love the sking tones.. actually it all looks great. Congrats on a stupendous job. It may be just me but the fern seems either out of place or too large for the base. Instead of going straight to the figure with my eyes the fern catches the attention first, which is a shame for such a great figure.

Beautifully done, especially the shield, groundwork. Well all of it.

Great work. I like especially the shield. Perhaps the highlights on the knees are a little bit to "light". But the flesh tones are beautiful

This is a kit I must have missed! great to see an axe handle that actually looks as though it was hewn from a piece of wood! Super paint job especially the shield, I assume the heavy highlight on the knee is from the camera flash? An option might have been to tie the figure into the basework with some dirtying up! but this is a matter of personal preference and not a criticism-would have been a shame to spoil such a good paint job!

    Great and gorgeous work, stefano.
I think the fresh tone is very wonderful.
I felt an uplifting feeling of a figure.
The ground work is also very wonderful.
By the way is the material of this figure a metal?
    I congratulate completion.

Mike , thank you for commenting, the fern seems too large because of the camera zoom but in reality they are ok in the base

Ulrich, Keith thank you for your kind words, the hard highligths depend in fact from the camera and from my humble skill as photographer , i think perhaps in the first pic ..the least worse..the highlights are almost as in reality ..
Keith , i would give some weathering effects as final steps on the figure even if for my liking i don't like too much weathering and dirty ..

    cheers

I agree with Mike. My eyes go right to the ferns.

Super figure and the painting is excellent. I shall look and see if Model Cellar has this in production yet. They bought out Pagan Art.

    Good work from you Ubbi!

I like the hair and beard. Although I would have preferred a more traditional pattern on the shield.

Thank you for your feedback Janne, when i thought about the painting of the shield i was indecide between a traditional pattern or something different , and after a look in the web about viking shields i found that pattern with the wolves and i thought it could work for the subject..

    cheers
