That makes perfect sense. It is a good idea for heavy sporrans as well.

Great job. Do keep in mind that Highlanders of this era were wearing the feile mor, or "Great Kilt" a la one piece Breacon wrapped around the body and more often than not terminating as a plaid over the shoulder, not the later, tailored, Military "Little Kilt" that we know of today.

    Thanks all :)

Mike, yes they will be wearing the belted plaid (feilidh-mhor)

I managed to convince my wife of snapping photos of me wearing a solid colored bed sheet and posing like the figures to aid in getting the drapery correct!! It was quite comical (y)

From what I can see the broadsword basket looks well, so does the rest of it.

Good to see some progress on this one Gordy and nicely done, did you use wire to form the basket hilt ?

    Thanks guys!

Steve, yes, I used some aluminum rod for the basket hilt, super glued together

Rod, green stuff is Duro, the yellow and blue epoxy putty, it works great for press molds, very rubbery, i drilled the holes into a pattern and then pressed in some milliput!
