After completing a Subterranian type warrior I decide to attempt a female version. My original idea was to make her a scout with goggles and a radio backpack, but as I progressed........

    Great stuff as usual Ken.

I would guess Ken as used bellbearings for the eyes.

Interesting Ken, what's the material, polymer clay? She's probably better off as is, without the goggles that is. Looks very feminine.

    Ken ,
Nice start , like the collar , would like to see the torso extended a bit more , , it will be interssting to see what develops with the headdress , like the "bit" of clothing , nice and looks natural , like Ray said , looks feminie so well done , always hard to do a female sculpt .

    Look forward to seeing more

Very interesting bust, Ken. . .

    Hi Ken:

I really like where you're going with this one. And it is looking really great.
What would be the scale of this bust?

Rick, glad you like her, she's about a 1/10th scale, from her chin to the start of the shell helmet is the same as one of your dimes.
    Many thanks for your comments.

    More Pics WIP

Built up her shoulders and added tentacles coming from under the Nautilus shelled helmet. Also added 2 different finishes to her shell helmet, not sure which is best.
Planning on extending her torso( thanks Kev) and adding something to her back, poss a cloak type thingy. Will post finished pics tomorrow I hope.

Many thanks for looking and again I welcome any and all comments.

    Cheers Ken

    Ken ,
Its coming along , not sure about the 2 top bits on the helmet , what about a fish as she is aquatically challenged .

Glad you are going to lengthen the torso , a cloak on the back perhaps , nice idea but don't loose the nice collar you have done .

Is the skin going to be more scaley like the male counterpart , have you any ideas about a base yet?

Look forward to seeing the next step

    Wow, very creative

    Wow Ken:

I really really :) like where this young lady sculpt is going now. You really
have a vivid imagination. And that part of the creative process, where you
just let all the rules fall aside, can be so liberating. . . and altho not a
sculptor, I would think this would especially be the case for a sculptor.

All your latest ideas you mentioned with your latest round of images sound
really interesting to me. I do like the head piece, the added tenacles (ooops
I can't spell that woid, it seems :( ) and decorative collar and the linear
designs you've scribed into the putty. The cape idea seems like an element
that would add a lot of eye appeal as well.

This is fun. Like I'm being a creative sculptor, vicariously . . . well sort of

Mitsutaka, Many thanks for your comments, always appreciated. It's made from Super Sculpey Firm, a kind of clay you have to bake.

Kev, great suggestions, however when you say fish on her head, do you mean in a bowl. :D as far as scalely skin, I think it might spoil her I dunno.

Rick, great comments, this is my , I think 3rd fantasy type sculpt and compared to traditional military figures it is very liberating, not having to research the amount of buttons on a tunic between Jan 1862 and june 1863 etc etc ... is a dream.
    Many thanks for looking.
    Cheers KEN
3 more pics, sorry about the quality, but was trying to take close ups.
