I started this figure by the great Stefano Borin a few years ago but never actually finished it as I found it too difficult at the time.

Now, a few years on I had another go at it and here is the result which I hope is decent enough

Yes Carl with acrylics and then matt varnished. I scanned a Hungarian painting of one of their Saints and reduced it so it can partially fit on the shield and outlined it with pencil. That was the reason I set it aside a few years ago as I must have spent around 2 months painting it in and had to have a break in the end leaving it unfinished

It's a 90mm pewter figure and was distributed by White Models. Thank you all once again for your encouragement. I won't be painting a similar shield very soon as I've run out of toothpicks

Ken, the helmet is metal so all I had to do was polish it, cover it with a mix of black, brown and blue oils, let dry for a few minutes and then remove most of it with a tissue paper.

I think the helmet is one of the best features apart from the shield.

Hungary has a very colorful history and it would be nice to see more figures of this type in my opinion.
