i got this superb bust direct from Angel Terols website a little while ago.

i know SKMiniatures have them cos i saw them on Steves stall at Euro :)

it's one ( large ) piece of resin and required about an hour to clean-up ( including drilling a hole for a mounting post ), washed, dried and undercoated i filled a couple of pin holes and left it for a while....

today i pulled it onto the bench. this is about 5 hours in....

i did my usual and worked the eyes up first ( google images for reference ) :)

based in AV 021 medium fleshtone

added under colours with AV prussian blue, GW dark flesh and GW blood red

building the flesh colour over that with

    1. GW Dwarf flesh
    2. AV basic skintone ( identical to GW elf flesh )
    3. AV Light flesh

with the size of this it's difficult keeping the contrast down, the area around the eyes is almost there, the rest needs a lot of work yet :)

thanks for looking and as ever feel free to comment, crit and correct

    ;)

Mark, Euro fever is skyhigh as I can see :) and I applaud you for that because all I did since I came back was sleep, sleep and more sleep

That was pretty quick and you're on to a very promising start!!

Will watch this one closely as that is a damn fine piece of sculpting and Mr.Ford is looking great already :D

A pity that we didn't bump into each other :(

    Regards,

    Ray ;)

Nice start Mark. I'm not sold on the "speckles" on the lips. I also think the left iris looks slightly smaller than the right. Looking forward to what you do with this one!

Hi Jay! ... the lips have those little lines cast in... i think a wipe of filler may be in order. the eyes! i photoshopped a pic of the face and the eyes look equal sizes. but i'm not sure if i will do them again :(

    Tommi .... Again, many thanks

    Mitsutaka! ... thank you!

    Pedro .... thanks :)

Stephen ... thanks, it's getting there :) yeah i only saw one PF badge and i did'nt recognise the name :( but i look just like my avatar ;)

Thanks for all the comments everyone

    progression ......

i've done about 4 hours more on the face, toned down the creases on the forehead and under the eyes ( av 0202 sunny skintone to kill the red ). worked the lower face some and starting to add first layer of stubble ( this will be covered in some blue glazes to cool it down some more ) still a long way to go and those eyes are starting to bug me. i think they may be a touch too small

    anyhoo here's a pic

I think your right that the eyes are bit too small.
But I only noticed when you mentioned it.

    Keep up the good work,
    Marcel.
