Just some more LOUSY PICS to show the figure as a whole sans the cloak, which is now attached in place with chain and sheild strap all waiting for the paint splashing

Ray, extremely good painted figure. It is not only face, not only clothes or the shield, but I also admire your work on metal parts, just wonderful. How did you achieve such a dark metal efekt? Is it polished original metal of the figure and then few washes with oils? or do you have your own receipt? You are still geting better and better, I can´t wait your next work:)
    best regards,
    R.L.

Robert thank you so much for your kindness :)

Here is what I do with the metal........

I polish the white metal with a fine grade steelwool, then I paste the area with Mars Black W&N Oils. I remove the excess almost to nothing especially on the uppermost areas.....I just leave a very very thin film of paint, enough to make the etching/scratches work/show on the pasted metal. This is done while the paint is wet and with a hypodermic needle as I find the chisel shape works much better then just a round pointed needle. When all is dry I revisit the recesses with Lamp Black W&N Oils and feather accordingly. After this process dries, I add random spots of rust with Purple Madder Alizarin and feather them to merge with the metal.........

From this photo's i only can comment that the red's are to red.
Even if i'm not good with a digicam, i'm sure it's your photographic skills that aren't do any justice to your work.

I can only say that you did a awesome job. We could discuss your method about the metals at Euro....
