Here is my latest 54mm sculpt and something quite new to me. It is of a Pikeman under Gustavos Adolphos command from the Yellow Regiment from the Battle of Lutzen 1632.

Sculpting the armor and helmet was a bit of a challange, it is something I have a lot to work on! Hopefully the next one will be a bit smoother, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

As always it was sculpted with Magic Sculpt and a Hornet head.

Very accurate work! I like it.

I see you like this Sweeden subject, your family has been arrived from Sweeden to the USA? Or just you like it?

    Congrats!

    Thanks guys!!

Unfortunatly Marc, this is another one off figure!

    Balázs,

I was born and raised in Sweden, only moved to the US when I turned 18 ten years ago! So yes, I guess I have a fondness for Swedish Subjects, we really only had things going for us in th 17th and early 18th century which are all interesting time periods.

Stephen, thanks mate! The key is to keep at it, wether your fail or succeed you are bound to learn something from the experience!

Nice work Anders, great period, (I would say that), very unusual regiment to do, good choice........

Like to see this one painted, will you bring him to Euro, as I know you were going to make the trip.

Well isnt Swedish history the greatest? ;)

Coming around fine, Anders. Im thinking you are getting a bit homesick with the recent explosion of Swedish figures?

As a footnote Gustav II Adolf (Gustavous Adolphus) have been given the epithet "The Great" by the Swedish Parlament shortly after the funeral about a year after he died. And the main course of the second of my quotes here below.

    Thanks guys!

Yes, I will have him finished up and will have him at Euro! Starting painting tonight, which is exciting, as the color scheme of this guy is pretty much a Yellow-Black-White sort of combination.

    Janne,

Hehe of course I am getting homesick, I'll be in Sweden in less then a week! Been listening to Hoolabandoola Band, Micke Wiehe and Bjorn Aufzelius a lot lately, good stuff. As conservative as I am, I still enjoy the "Progg" and other Socialism type of music. Only because the message is misguided, doesnt mean it's bad music!! Also been lisstening to Sabator, which is quite a bit different from the above, but good nonetheless!

BTW, I will be in the Stockholm area (Uppsala) the 25th thru to the 30th of September, we should hook up! Maybe we should do the museums one day, like the Army Museum and the Royal Armory comes to mind. I am not sure what the schedule looks like but it would be fun. Let me know what you got going around those dates.

    Thanks Janne!! Much appreciated.

    Hehe! Good ol Ulf Lundell!

Whats up with all the Keep Sweden Swedish stuff on the anthem clip? Things getting bad at home or what?

PM me your cell number so I can call you. I'll grab a cell from one of my family members while there, so don't know the number yet.
  15. Looking forward for this on the Euro tables, mate ... love to see you doing subjects from your history.

Keeping out off all wars since 1814 is quiete an achievement, too. (We should not totally neglect more peaceful subjects, for that matter.)

Very nice sculpt of one of my favorite periods in history. You are being extremely efficient these days.

Well, it sure took its time but finally the rest of the world was taught not to mess with us....:D

When will we see for example Bjorn Borg, or the Swedish King and Queen, Alfred Nobel, Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman etc as miniatures.

    Cheers

    Thanks guys!

Swedish History is pretty interesting, atleast up until the 1720's, after that things kind of slow down.
