Hi everyone. I received this in the mail on tuesday and thought to review it for who ever is deciding wether to buy it or not.

The bust comes in a nice sturdy box with a great gloss photo of the bust on the front. A full page of history or prince Ernst is included as well as suggestions for how to apply the glasses to the bust.

The bust consists of 9 parts - toso and head, hat, jacket, glasses, plume and two cords. The glasses and cords are molded in metal.

The bust is a great resin which feels smooth to the touch. No sculpt lines were seen during survey of the bust.

The figure fits together nicely except for the hat which is a bit loose on the head, so observation may be required when glueing the hat to the bust.

The figure features full multi-tiered sculpting. With hair and the under jacket being fully sculpted to allow the bust to be constructed and displayed in a variety of ways.

Overall, this is a piece of magnificance. No mold lines, great fitting parts and a option to vary the kit to your liking. Michael miniatures goes above and beyond the call of duty by supplying so much history, glossy photos and they will even e-mail you extra photos if you order direct.

Michael Miniatures has really shown what is possible in the world of historical miniatures. lets hope others may learn from him so that we the painters will benefit.

    Hi Folks!

Unfortunately, this bust has a big mistake:

Both sleeves of the Dolman are too short.

Not sure how big a mistake this is. There is a photo on the Michael Miniatures website of the actual uniform in the Cramer Museum. Unfortunately the photo stops just short of showing the full extent of the pelisse sleeves. The lacing on the sleeves does however match the lacing on the torso as depicted on the bust. It would assist if more of the uniform was visible in the photo. It is possible of course that the body of the pelisse is pretty much as long as the sleeves.

Also on that site are previews of further releases including a couple by Yury Serebyakov.

It's a lovely bust - with a great paint job by Danilo as well.

Just got my supply from Mike.
