Spartan Warrior 480 BC - Seil Miniature Review

    Seil's newest 54mm figure is a beautiful Spartan Warrior created by Babis Stathis.

    The kit consists of 13 white metal parts and a brass etched plaque for the front of a wooden base when finished. Above you see the parts, out of the box which once again is Seil's sturdy black box with all parts layered between foam for protection. The kit is also supplied with a color guide in addition to the box sleeve.

    Above is the head / helmet which is cast serartely.

    Above is the crest which attaches to the top of the helmet.

    Above are the 4 views of the chest showing the fine detail Babis has sculpted into the figure.

    Above are the legs / hips section with a sturdy foot peg for attaching to the white metal base.

    The spear above has the right hand attached.

    The sword / scabbard are bagged separtely to ensure against loss.

    Above are the front and back views of the shield showing the high degree of detail Babis has achieved.

    Above on the left is the white metal base with the hole for the left foot to enter and fasten into. On the right is the brass etched plaque along with 4 screws for fastening to the wooden base.

    Conclusion:
    An excellent kit depicting a Spartan Warrior. Minimal seam lines to file away. Highly recommended.

    Really like this one as well. Hoping to find one to replace the similar figure on Time Machines old Leonidas dio, always felt the corpse was let down by the 'live' figure.
