The painting steps continue with the upper torso getting its second tedious coat of black followed by the 1st coat of Humbrol Satin Coat for the gloss effect.

The next step was to finish painting the arms and attach to the upper torso. There is an armor pad for each shoulder that will attach later.

After the arms had set for a couple of hours I fastened the upper torso to the lower torso / legs.

The next step is to complete the helmet and head ornaments while at the same time painting the swords. Alot of detail work yet to be done on the above assembly.

The progress is slow now as the painting of the small details is time consuming and tedious. I have attached the shoulder armor pads

The Najinta has been attached with the hands and base coated. The small sword and helmet have been an ongoing progress and will be attached in the next step over the next couple of days.

This is a great SBS. I follow every step close and bought as outcome from this SBS my first samurai.
It is a small one, but i'm sure this is gonna give me alot of fun to.
But this 90 mm is so loaded with details, and Guy, you bring them all out.
Keep painting, and i'm looking forward to your next step.

Thanks Rocky, Its probably the most detailed figure I have painted in years.

No kidding about the detail! One question; how you paint so intricately while drinking Mountain Dew? That stuff is loaded with caffeine.

I used to drink coffee right up until it was time to go to bed so the body is used to the caffeine. I usually switch over to bottled water after 6pm.

All the intricate painting is done with propping or staging the hands to keep the brush steady. Little tricks you learn over the years.

I want to see a picture of that!

The Samurai is now in its finishing stages. All components are painted and the assembly begins with the head and helmet. After the head / helmet is attached the visor and ornament is attached as shown below.

Now the ornament and visor are attached as well as the 2 swords on his left hip.

A couple of close ups of the upper body with attachments added.

The Naginto tip as well as the banner that mounts on the back will be added after the groundwork is completed.

I am no where near your caliber, but this has to be the best example or your artistic ability. I am completely astounded to say the least. You have obviously put heart and soul into this build. Unbelievable! The fabric looks real, the enamel looks real. Your skills are truly inspirational!
