    Hello.
It'll be a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. She keeps complaining that I only paint dwarves and monsters, so I'll paint something else this time. This will be my first figure in this scale.
Loved by some, hated by others. I will be glad if you want to get to know this character.

"Polish politician, military man, marshal of Poland, one of the main organizers of the Polish state, initiator of the formation of the Polish Legions. He was born on December 5, 1867 in Zułów in today's Lithuania in an impoverished noble family. After graduating from high school, he began medical studies at the University of Kharkiv. On March 22, 1887, Józef Piłsudski was arrested on charges of participating in the assassination attempt on Tsar Alexander III Romanov, he was sent to Siberia, from where he returned five years later. Activist of the Polish Socialist Party, co-founder of its branch - PPS-Revolutionary Fraction. He edited the illegal magazine "Robotnik". In the last days of June 1908 in Lviv, on Piłsudski's initiative, the underground Association of Active Struggle was established, led by Kazimierz Sosnkowski - then an instructor of the Combat Organization of the Polish Socialist Party. An organizer of Riflemen's Unions, he also created the Polish Legions in the Austrian partition. Commander of the First Brigade of the Legions. In the early days of World War I, he made an unsuccessful attempt to start a national uprising in the area of the Russian partition. From 1914 to 1917, the chief commander of the Polish Military Organization. In 1917, he became the head of the Military Department of the Provisional Council of State. Then arrested and imprisoned in the German fortress in Magdeburg, which strengthened his reputation as a fighter for Polish independence. Released in early November 1918, he came to Warsaw and on the 22nd of the month he accepted the position of the temporary Chief of State. Commander of the armed forces during the Polish-Bolshevik war. Before the start of the offensive on Kyiv, he was appointed Marshal of Poland. On August 16, 1920, he led a decisive flanking maneuver from the Wieprz River, which determined the victory of the Polish army in the Battle of Warsaw.

After the adoption of the March Constitution, which significantly limited the role of the head of state, he resigned from running for the office of President of the Republic of Poland. After the murder of the first president, Gabriel Narutowicz, he withdrew from public life. He resigned from all state functions and settled in a manor house in Sulejówek. In 1926, he carried out a military coup d'état, taking over the real power in the country. From August 28, 1926, he was the General Inspector of the Armed Forces and the potential Commander-in-Chief in the event of war, he also held the position of the Minister of Military Affairs, and temporarily also the Prime Minister. He undertook to dismantle democratic institutions, built an environment of the so-called Sanacja centered around him, and made both the parliament and the president dependent on him, to whom he appointed a professor of chemistry, Ignacy Mościcki. He took over full power in 1930 as a result of manipulated and partially falsified parliamentary elections called "Brest elections". Marshal Józef Piłsudski died on May 12, 1935, less than three weeks after the adoption of a new constitution intended to consolidate his political position."

In a small cardboard box we find a string bag with two parts of the figurine and a leaflet with information about the Marshal and the Legions.

What a deep thought. One may also say that thanks to him there are plenty of Polish criminals operating in today's Europe, including the largest human trafficking ring ever exposed in the UK. Seriously speaking, it is disappointing to see how some people use the hobby to satisfy their primitive national prejudices, even it is understandable in the context of the horrible Russian war in Ukraine.

    Hi.

    God forbid, I'm not prejudiced.
I feel sorry for this poor nation, tortured for so many years, whose power controls practically every aspect of life. Not the richest, but the poorest people who only have access to official messages.
My favorite piece of Russian literature is "The Master and Margarita" by M. Bulgakov, and the Russian TV series is a masterpiece. These primitive mechanisms are clearly visible.
The fact is, however, that in the 1920s, Lenin encouraged German communists to work towards partitioning Poland, which had just regained its independence after 123 years. These were the plans, however, the German communists were too weak to take independent steps and awaited the arrival of reinforcements from the east.
The Battle of Warsaw and the victory in the Polish-Bolshevik war put an end to plans for the Sovietization of Central and Western Europe.
The military and civilian elites were aware of this and referred to the Battle of Warsaw as the 18th decisive battle of the world (Lord d'Abernon). Its importance was also compared to the Battle of Vienna 1683 (gener. L. Faury).
"To speak Russian" is a mental shortcut of course, although not entirely, taking into account what is currently happening.

Haha, thank you. Yes that moustache is a legend, even today.

    Thank you, mate.

    Torso.
Blue is not my favorite color when it comes to shading. But I'm not giving up.

I think no nation has a monopoly on righteousness or wickedness, though the current war will cast a long shadow over the Russians. There are also many myths surrounding major battles in national histories, but perhaps that is a discussion for another day.

    Hi!
I strengthened the contrast on the uniform jacket, put the head on, I'll paint the boots and wraps a bit more and it's time for the base, it will be adequate.

Frame. Probably for a picture or poster maybe...
It would be easier to use a thin veneer, but the veneer shop was closed :D But polished matches will probably work too.
