Hi guys, this is my latest work.
Conversion The Bodi 35193 "M18 Hellcat crewman#1" and scratchbuilt naval mine.
    1/35 scale

When World War II broke out, US Naval Construction Battalions (Seabees) did not exist. What had to be done was to build staging bases to carry the war to the enemy, across both oceans, and create a building force to do the job.

The solution: tap into the vast pool of skilled labor in the United States; put him in uniform to build anything, anywhere, under any conditions and ask the Marine Corps to train him. On D-Day the Seabees were the first to land as a Naval Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU).
The liberation of Cherbourg and Le Havre gave new work to the NBCs. These were the ports that would replace the Mulberryes. Anticipating that the Allies would want ports, the Germans mined them and left them in ruins.

Thanks, I'm very glad you liked it. It was a very fun and interesting project, also because it's a different subject than usual.
The hardest part was finding documentation for the mine. This one was built starting from a ping pong ball.

Looks great, congratulations on your result (although what possessed him to sit on top of a mine I'll never know!) ;)

the idea started from an original photo that inspired me; then the new figure The Bodi just released on the market suggested to me that it could be suitable for this project and that with a few modifications I could represent what I had in mind. IMG-20221115-WA0000.jpg

thanks again, I am very pleased that you liked this project and that it generated such enthusiasm, because I like to think that it could be a message to push many of you to try new paths, to get away from more usual proposals or subjects and also think of propose something less known.
Then there are many images that are a source of inspiration.
I leave you a photo of the piece before painting, so you can also understand how I made the lead, since the Royal Model one on the market turned out to be too small.
