So, added the Switzers to the battlefield, added a mounted general and some ground works.... 20221005_222525.jpg 20221005_222551.jpg 20221005_222614.jpg 20221005_222636.jpg 20221005_222657.jpg 20221005_222723.jpg

While i am finishing few of the left out guards, i decided to jump to make of the the conversions i want it to do for a while.
I am planning to have a group of drummers as the famous paintin of the Battle of Fontenoy .
One of the main figures i admire is the drum major of the guards, i think the pose on the painting gives the proper " Nose in the air , proud and cocky" air of the Major in charge of the guards. 20221006_130436.jpg

And for that conversion i decided to use a figure with a similar pose.
It is a british figuro from Triguard that i will convert . 20221006_144040.jpg

Started the conversion by clippimg off the hanging musket on his back,
Then, #1, heated the figure off for a couple minutes, that way i was able to easily move the arm a little lower without damaging the figure.
#2 , i raised his chin a little, giving it a more snobby air and character.
    # 3 , sanded his back and torso a little so i can lay the uniform lace with putty later.
    # 4 , shortened the coat, i will actually make that a vest and build the coat turnbacks later.
    # 5, got rid of the top of the boots and sanded areas , i will build the gaiters later on. 20221006_144348.jpg 20221006_144311.jpg

If I were to do this many figures someone might think I was a gluten for punishment, but you've carried the same perfection with each figure, in this tiny scale, incredible, wow! Awesome work, Daniel!

I have fixed the hat a little in order to give a more pronounce front, built the turnbacks, added the lace front and back , and fixed his gaiters a little, still lots of work to be done on the drum major. 20221008_140336.jpg 20221008_140349.jpg

I have started another "surgery" on a british chap from the SYW Range from Triguard, i want ti resemble this drummer...

The original figure is this.. SYWB-13-14.jpg

I have heated the figure a little, moved the torso a little upright, lower the arm,
Built a small standing collar and added a head from the french batch of head plugs i have. 20221007_141704.jpg 20221008_140404.jpg

What to say except ...don't stop ...ever ! .......excellent updates and pics , fine detailing and how you work even in 40mm amazes me , both figures are great , it's clever how you can look at a figure and see what's need to convert ....looking to see more on all

That drummer would make a fabulous BUST .....all that lacework .......Oooohhh going all gooey thinking about it !

Look forward to more as always

    Happy benchtime

    Hi Daniel

Not kind my friend just the truth ! .....I can only wish about the drummer bust ...

Good start on the lacework , interesting you add a Matt medium with metallics ...presumably they would be too " metallic" if not used

Nice flesh on him and very neat lining on the lace

    Looking forward to seeing more

    Happy benchtime
