I found this bust some time ago. Really liked the bust and had a little chat with the sculptor. So I'am going to paint this according to some references he used for the sculpt.

I didn't know what this bust is and/or represents.

Say hello to Nott the Brave, a character from a D&D Podcast.

Here are some references. I'll start painting her after I finished the Offline bust.

Clever little sculpt, beautifully done & lots of fun to paint.
Especially like that neat Oni mask - 2 expressions in one.
Look forward to seeing your art on her Ralf.

    Here's an update on Nott.
I have more WIP-photos, but haven't documented much of the process.
I watched video tutorials by Kyrill Kanaev and tried the stippling technique. You can see it in the skin/face and the mask.

There still is a lot to do. The whole back is unpainted and will be painted with a different lighting color in mind. Not sure about the color, though. Maybe orange, turquoise, ... we'll see.
Also: I need to finish the highlights from the general lighting theme first.

Ralf loving progress in this cheeky, scary piece.
Good to see experimenting with stipple approach & really think this adds bit texture plus nice effects.
What’s biggest challenge you have face with this piece?

I'd say the mask. I painted the mask first. Pretty dark, because of the lighting of the face (which has pretty dark skintone). I then painted her cloak. Which turned out rather brighter. Brighter than I thought at first. But I liked it and had to adjust the brightness of the mask again.

Since the cloak is the reference in brightness now I have to add specular highlights to the face.

The stippling process is fun. I'll use it more often in the future.

    That looks very effective. Congrats

Superb. Nott is a female Goblin rouge from the Critical Roll series of YouTube/Podcast fame. Some of the early ones are pretty funny but I find the newer stuff boring. Your work is excellent. Really captures a nice blend of realism and cartoon. love it!

Really scary and weird sculpt, for my tastes at least, but excellent paintwork!

I haven't posted much in here lately. I haven't found much time for painting in the last month, but had some fun at monthly painters hangouts in one of germany's comic-book stores.
Here's my latest progress on Nott. Pictures are not the best. I'll need to clean up some parts for the final pictures. I haven't had the time for the final touches yet.

Excellent result Milbenplage, I love this. You really captured the essence of this character, both alluring and terrifying at the same time.

Were can this bust be purchased legit? I found somebody selling on Etsy, but I'm very weary of buying figures from any other source than the usual (online) retailers or the original artists.

If the etsy Shop is by Piotr Kupper aka Coraxartifex, then it's the legit spot to get this bust. Beware: It's huge.
