Another pair of legs added by me to this superb 1/10 bust from Life Miniatures,
Many a time in the past on trips to London by train, I would leave the train via platform 1 at Paddington and always stop to admire the Bronze statue of a WW1 soldier deep in thought reading a letter from home, sculpted I believe by a WW1 British Officer post war named I think "Jagger" ( not the guy with the big lips from the Rolling Stones).
When Life miniatures brought this bust out last year, which obviously is an almost exact copy of the Statue at Paddington Station, I just couldn't resist adding the legs to him, so I could have a miniature of the much admired Statue, that commemorates all the lost soldiers that were employees of the Great Western Railway who came by train into London, via the Great Western Line on their way to France/Belgium etc, during the Great War. The only addition to this figure that's different from the original statue is the SMLE Rifle resting on the ground, I continued with the sheep/ goat skin jacket being worn under the greatcoat as per the actual statue.
I've not been doing much painting lately due to bit of a painters block, so for the past so many months I've been sculpting all my additions to a "few" of the half figures/busts, that I have been wanting to in my mind improve upon.
    Cheers

This is the actual statue in Paddington Station, sculpted by Charles Sargeant Jagger, as a memorial to the 2,500 employees of the Great Western Railway, who volunteered to fight but never returned from the Great War.
Charles Sargeant Jagger (1885-1934) was commissioned into The Artist Rifles 1914 and later the Worcestershire Rgt, he served at Gallipoli and the Western Front through to 1918, he was wounded 3 times and awarded the Military Cross for Gallantry.
Many of the Great War statues around London and other cities are his own work & design, he also carried out some civil sculptures too, such as the Statue of Sir Ernest Shackleton in London.
