I’ve been advised copies of my book have been sent out for review. Here’s a short note I received from one reviewer:

“First impression is that it is clearly aimed at newcomers and explains in plain English. This is crucial for this type of how to book. Excellent illustrations too and how to art work. Don't stress, you have a winner.”

Note slight delay due to supply chain issues book now due 30Aug22

Honoured to feature today in the long running, high quality Japanese magazine Model Art published an interview I did with respected modeller & writer Norio Takemura San.

Every face tells a story, so I included those of real WW1 soldiers in my book. I’m indebted to Yannick Olivères for Polius, others came from National Archives & my family albums.

Who does your family remember for their service & sacrifice?

A great gesture Mike (and is the book nearly out....?).

My paternal grandfather was wounded at Gallipoli, then served in Palestine and ended up in the Machine Gun Corps on the Western Front. My maternal grandfather was in the artillery on the Western Front. Three of my wife's family are commemorated on the Menin Gate. Part of the reason I am involved in the Great War SIG is to keep their memories, and the memories of all those who served, alive.
