    Hello everyone,

here are the first steps on the crusader. I had this one long time in my grey army and decided now to give it a go.

It is one of my all time favourite figures. I will try to paint it in the colour scheme shown on the boxart. I struggled again with taking pictures.

    All painted in acrylics.

Let me hear what you think. All comments are welcome.

    Greetings, Stephan

    Hello everyone,
finally i found some time to work on my crusader. I did the chain mail and played around with some brown tones to achieve different types of leather. Now the fun with the white tunic begins. My plan is to do the cross on the chest first and then the tunic. Does this make sense? What do the more experienced painters think?

Hopefully you'll rediscover your enthusiasm for this one because he looks good so far and it's a lovely figure.

Regarding the cross, what I would do on this particular piece would be base-coat in the red, mask it off and then completely paint the white around it. Then once that's fully dry I'd remove the mask from the red cross, mask off the white and then finish off the shading & highs on the red. Others may have other / better ideas but I have tried that in the past and it worked.

Thank you very much for your advice, sounds lika a very good idea. I will finish this one for sure, maybe straight after the viking. It is a nice figure for sure but my is not the best.
