    Hi all,

I just discovered these beauties from FER's "Magna Historica" line in scale 1:12, sculpted by Ramón Martínez:

    FER.jpg

They are (from left to right)
    - Gaulish Warrior, Alesia, 52 BC; € 55
    - Vercingetorix, Alesia, 52 BC; € 55
    - Gaulish Standard Bearer, Alesia, 52 BC; € 60

If you take all three the price it will cost you € 175, but then the doggie is included.

There are more images on their website here.

    Cheers

Came out a few months back, it's a lovely set but I've yet to see one painted up.

This is a beautiful set and was a must have for me and managed to snap one up at release, painting the set is another task for the future.

Chopping heads off seems to have been a popular pastime amongst the Romans and their enemies.

    Very nicely sculpted trio.

That is a quite fabulous and visually stunning piece but I have to be honest and say that I am unsure what having the dog in there 'brings to the party'..?

It's a personal opinion only, but I think it actually detracts from the 3 figures grouping as it seems to have no meaning to the overall presentation or historical context.

The Vercingetorix model was painted by Banshee recently and was shown on the MFCA Facebook page and on "Putty and Paint". https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/33117

That's a cracking job. I've seen a few of the individual busts painted up, but so far not the whole trio plus dog.

Just had a jook at the painted bust on the Putty and Paint link and WOW, what a job, it certainly makes you think how stunning the set would look together but personally I am not a great fan of busts grouped together on one base and I can only join in with the a few others and wish that these were full figures, then I would have a problem not buying them, still an excellent release and hope that we see more of them completed very soon.

    But where's the legs!
Not a fan of the dog (even though it is an excellent model) and I'm not too keen on Slaine or the decapitated heads either. but these are still still great pieces.
Not my period either but I would still be tempted if they were full figures in 75 or 90mm.
Sure you busties will have a whale of a time on these though. The hanging roman helmet is a nice touch.
