    Hello painters,

yesterday i started the work on Shadow by dustgame.
i did a review of the figure here : https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/shadow-dustgame-1-20th.329420/

honestly i had a great fun getting back at my bench playing with colors again.
on the technics i used :
the figure was first primed in black, as i want a purplish black for the one piece leather i first applied a black coat mixed with a hint of purple in it then i took the airbrush and applied volumes lights using a mix of gray purple. once dried i played over those volumes with glazes of purple slowly highliting them with a blueish white.

for the hair i played with reds but i'm not satisfied with them actually as i want them a very bright red, not the dark one i have actually.

sorry for the crappy cellphone pictures ... outdoor light was not good.

as usual all your critics and comments are more than welcome :)

painted with S75 acrylics, using my trusty Winsor and Newton series 7 #1

    today's work :

i essentially played with glazes to upgrade the highlights, adding more lights to volumes.
i begun to work on details too : straps, holsters, weapons and slowly increase the red of her hair.

let me know your thoughts !

    Hi Franck

Just seen this ..she is certainly very shapely , like the way it's going , the highs work well

For me bit hardto see all what's been done due to background but it certainly suits her !

    Good review as well

    Look forward to seeing more

    Happy benchtime

main painting is finished for the moment, i will put the final touches when she will be in place on her final scene.
i'm planning to build a part of a tea house with a Shoji wall that will be her background ... some suprises to come will show her lethal power ;)

    hi friends,
I begun the work on the "Tea House" at least to suggest it ;)

the base is a simple part of a 2X4 pinewood stud that i leveled carefully, from there i glued wood coffee stirrers to simulate the wood floor
next was the main walls structures done with balsawood, finally i applied a tinted varnish to the floor in order to obtain a realistic color :)

    012.jpg 013.jpg 014.jpg

size of the base is roughly 3 by 4 inches which give me some room for the details to come while being in scale with the figure (to my eyes at least)
as usual all your comments are welcome !

    hi !

shadow is in place now :)
i will now work on some elements to add a story to the scene.

    017.jpg 018.jpg

the balsa has been painted with golden acrylics a 50/50 mix ratio of "animal black" and "violet oxyde"
i used those paints because of their fluidity with heavy pigmentation and for the fact that they give a slight satin effect once dried.

i keep the pace with this project :)

what is saying japan more than a samurai ? a Bonsai tree of course hahaha ... i know i'm crazy ;)

electrical wire, Bondo filler and some green moss mixed with heavy acrylic gel : 2 hours of pure fun !

    019.jpg 020.jpg 021.jpg 022.jpg

    that's all for today :)
