I started an airbrush session yesterday afternoon, I was getting some basic shades down on some figure heads, when suddenly no paint was coming through, then a big pop and paint everywhere. Now no pressure at all, so i think its safe to say its dead  . Its done well, chatting to my son, he remembers when we used it for a project at school 8 years ago, so it would be older than that.:(
Going to need a to get a new one, come payday  . At the moment i have a range of figures whose faces look like they are about to throw up, green with envy, or Aliens.

In my early years I worked in an advertising agency where we used a huge inner tube
for our air supply. As the newcomer, every so often it was part of my job to roll the thing
out to the nearest garage for a refill....

Nice looking compressor Steve. Does it have an auto pressure auto cut out?
Sorry, I only saw this today. Did your old one die electrically, or did the diaphragm go? The diaphragm would be an easy fix. Still worth fixing, as a back up compressor.
I have used a Ripmax for years on and off (I bought it second hand about 13 years ago), and it's still going strong, but it runs constantly. I bought a Harder and Steenbeck brush last year on ebay which came with a cheapish compressor, but it has an auto pressure cut off, so I've been using that ever since.
