I was concerened about space I had - the display case actually over hangs my sideboard but I think it will be fine.

Hi all, more work on LHS - I have been working on the courtyard groundplan - fiddling here and there to make it fit the buildings - I have also added a few bricks in the pond and another layer of gel.

Evening all - the pond area/base is now fitted together with the walls and painted / weathered then flat coated - I may work on placing some of my figures and table for firing platforms tomorrow as it will give mr space to place them without the whole diorama built first.

Evening all, so where were we? ah yes adding some details around the pond - the KGL lads were desperate for firing platforms, so they raided the kitchen and found a couple of tables and benches "perfect job" these were positioned inside the wall between the brick holes.

First though mr giant had to assemble and paint/weather them then glue them in place.

Ok good start but needs some figures - so I got my completed box out and chose a few 2nd KGL to start with, first job was to carefuly remove the plastic bases they are moulded to - had to be careful not to cut into thier feet, then a little CA underneath and they were glued down.

So its a start and much easier with room to move them around.

Looking good W. It's always difficult to judge scale, without figures, and the figures really bring it to life.
Are you adding bricks/rubble under those holes, or where they already there before the battle? My knowledge of the battle of Waterloo can be written on a stamp. In marker pen...:)

Yes indeed will add some of those on both sides of the wall, the deffending German 2nd KGL troops hacked the bricks out with their bayonets on the morning of the battle as that and the tables and the roofs of the piggery - where the only firing positions over the wall.

Evening all - Three 2nd KGL finished save for spraying on some flat coat tomorrow - I have about another 50 KGL to go 40 KGL Line infantry and about 40 French that still need to be made and painted.

That is really starting to look good W, nice and busy. The weathering on the building is coming out well. What are you doing for the groundwork, and how much ground will you show outside the walls?

Will you resist extending the diorama, and add an approaching French Column?

Thank you kindly Henk, I have a purpose built disppaly case and base already made - its about 36inches long by 24inches wide, the farm complex takes up about 2/3s of this, it will be placed with more room showing at the orchard end where the French were attacking/advancing, and the other end will contain a small section of the kitchen garden - I have assorted scenery - grass sections/soil/rubble areas/trees/hedge kits and a pre made road for the front.

Here is a photo I took overhead that shows the base with LHS placed (dry fitted) and the space at both ends and infront by the roadway/main entrance.

Thank you for the nice comments - that building will be an extenal outside building that was in the kitchen garden - possibly a posh tool shed.

Evening all - more work on my build - I have started laying out the ground plan, this needs a fair bit or adjustment to get the walls and buildings to lign up, also as the main section was glued in place aided by a sheet of paper inderneath, there was a few small gaps that needs filling with my vallejo putty, then a touch up to hide the putty, the fron sections still need the same treatment.
