Evening all, some more progress - working on the front dove cote entrance and wall - this includes a section of the wall that was hacked out by the 2nd KGL using thier bayonets for firing holes.
And a dry fit to see how it matches up.

Evening all, work continues on the frontal area including the duck pond - that's now been cut out and the edging stones attached, also the wall on the orchard side had to be altered due to the changes I made with the stable block.

I fitted all the buildings together dry fitted to check that they lighn up.

Yep - I will be adding that resin clear water after painting the inside a dirt green colour, no ducks they were killed and eaten by the KGL engineers the night before.

Never worked with water effects clear resine, i know greenstuff world has one.

Evening all, more work on the other part of the duck pond wall - its bricked/painted and weathered - it still needs securing down to the base but this will happen after the base is detailed and painted.
A nother dry run with the barn.

Evening all, I have started making some resin water for my pond - not as easy as I thought - mind you I have never made any before, firstly I mad ea backing using paper that was glued under the base with PVA, then when dry If was ready for the resin, it comes pre mixed and is like a white PVA in appearance - it can be thinned/diluted as it Acrylic based, I made my first layer too high in the pond so I scooped it out and did it again this time using less, I then dried it using a hairdryer and gradually I could see the White liquid going clear.

I am sure when the rest of the base and pond edging is painted/detailed it will look ok.

You're progres is impressive, the brickwork and weathering really bring it to life. The pond looks good, all artificial water products are difficult to work with, and need practice and experience. Wait till you finished the groundwork around it, and see if it needs anything else. Small ponds tend to be stagnant and weedy, I.e. green..

Hi all, checking out the site plan on my display base - to see how it could be dsplayed.

I had an idea for a diorama whose footprint would have been at least 24 inches square, and I thought of mounting it on a base with a lazy Susan turntable. Eventually I decided not to build it, because I still didn't have enough space to display it (I decided to break it down into smaller vignettes).
