Apart from the box art whats the reference for a marine with a beard.........any actual photos from Fallujah showing that?.

This is the photo that the bust is based on, USMC in Fallujah 2004.
Marines are clean shaven and the earlier post showing service men in beards is not quite correct, as the photos show British, Sikth and other foreign units and special forces. Better to search USMC in Fallujah.

With respect, hardly beards, a few days growth. They also appear to be in a rest area or off watch

One man's beard is another man's stubble . anyway its still a very nice start. looking forward to seeing how the camouflage works out.

I started with the camo on the helmet

It is very hard to do but I like it so far

I’m blessed with good eyes. So no optivisor for me. I do have one but not using it.

I went futher but I’m not sure of the colours

The brown seems to brown.

After some critics on other fora I desided to change the colours now its better

Brilliant. I think the face is beter than the box art. You achieved a nice "1000 yard stare" look. Camo is looking good too.
I do agree that a Grunt is unlikely to have more than a light 5 o'clock shadow (sorry Steve..), but it does suit his overall look.
