Thank you kind sir. I like long detailed projects, hard to fit in between the day job and other commitments but modelling keeps me sane and is my form of holiday and relaxation. I’m not one for TV and bad knees stops me doing a lot of things so model making is perfect for me. Thank you for following this build.

Added a French design gibernes accoutrements including powder flask and bayonet. These were obsolete kit by the time of the battle in 1746, with many donated to the Jacobite cause.

All items in white made from scrap bits of styrene and sculpted in a mix of Greenstuff/Apoxie putty. Gun and bayonet end from Reedees Miniatures.

Made a start with the painting, blocking in the main colours for now, lots of detailing to do including painting tartan pattern on the plaid.
Priming with Alclad 2 then painted with JoSonja acrylics.

Splashing some more paint about on the Jacobite, might add some diamond pattern to socks and musket yet to finish. Added a design on his bum bag (Gibernes) these were donated to the Rebellion as obsolete military kit by the French.

Absolutely superb sculpting, converting and animation. Again this shows what can be done with some inexpensive kits and a lot of imagination.

Thanks Mike. I think sculpting from scratch is the way to go as easier than converting an existing figure and really loved the process. My first sculpt in this scale and only the second one I’ve ever attempted. Really pleased with how he turned out. There are a few errors (think his feet are a little big) but once added to the scenic base will blend into the diorama nicely.

Started work on a second Jacobite, using a red tone tartan as captured as souvenir from Cullodon.

Now it’s cool enough in the U.K. to do some painting, been Working on Barrell’s 4th Foot. The 4th took the brunt of the casualties for the government side during the battle of Culloden. Still lots to do on them but getting there.
