Thank you mate, the stud work on the targe shields is simply cut length of styrene round bar of different diameter attached with Tamiya thin then when set lightly sanded to the various heights are levelled. Then some more Tamiya thin to take off any edges and smooth the finish.

This is looking really good , Marcus!
I have thoroughly enjoyed following the build, and I admire your ability to stay focused on such a large project- I've stalled halfway through figure no four on mine.

Thank you, I always find if I run out of steam in a project is to change gears. Do something that contributes to the same build but completely different to current blockage, like the scenic base or sort some of the little details that get left till the end like gun straps etc. It gets you back in the saddle so you can tackle the blockage with fresh eyes.

look forward to seeing progress on your build mate. :)

Finished modelling and sculpting each of the figures in the scene.

Slings for the muskets. Simply made by sticking two strips of masking tape together, then cutting to length. Folded the sling to shape, with the buckle made from bending copper wire around some flat tipped tweezers.

Now onto the painting, will take it slowly as quite a bit tartan plaid to do on the Jacobites.

Thank you Chris, lot more putty work on these than the Roman figures, loved making them though and enjoying working in this scale at the moment. :)

Thank you mate, think it will be some figures first. The reason if I get bored with figure painting I can work on the base and rotate to keep the momento going. :)

Made a new figure for the scene, this time not a conversion but sculpting from scratch just using hands and head from spares box. Calling him ‘Falling Man’. So moving the figures around a little to accommodate him centrally.

A big thank you to Steve of Reedees Miniatures for the scale armature template and guidance, this is my first go at a full sculpt (apart from head and hands from spares box). Loved the process and want to make more.

He needs some refinement but adds some additional drama to the current scene.

    Hi Marcus

Your enthausastic putty pushing is impressive and another well thought out piece which certainly adds to the whole diorama

If this was mine I would move the one with pistols more within the actual base

Look forward to more on this cracking diorama .....as Steve says ...you've bitten the bullet .......wonder what future subjects will be ?

    Happy benchtine

Thank you, think I will try some other putty for a full figure this size Greenstuff/Apoxie cures a bit quickly reducing working time getting muscle structure etc correct. Small steps forward each time with learning.

As everyone knows, im a huge advocate for Milliput! I know its not for everyone, but it works for me and is good if mixed 50-50 with Duro/Greenstuff for some detailing(y)

It’s a similar process I use, mixing varying ratios of Greenstuff with A/B putty. Sounds great.

Wow, the poses of the bodies are very natural like the expression of the faces. I can't wait for the scene to be painted and finished.

Thank you Federico, it took me a while getting each figure looking right but quite happy with the overall scene. I’ve been doing a bit of research on colours for government redcoats and tartans at the time of Culloden so hope the6 turn out okay.

Thank you mate, wished I’d made all the figures now same method as per your diagram, a lot quicker and the upper body easier to articulate and shape than the Roman figures, next challenge will be in sculpting hands and head/face so will work toward that.
