I'll hazard a very weak guess at central Europe. I don't think Austria. What's throwing me is those red, white & blue sashes and sword knots. I also have never seen a picklehalbe with a domed 'point' on it.
    Martin, you've got me!

Hi ----- Chile's military had a very interesting history regarding who influenced them re uniform, training etc. The Army by Germany the Navy the British.(I was brought up in the west of Scotland and some Chilean warships were built on the Clyde.) No idea about their airforce ---maybe the US? Remember for sometime back seeing a military parade of the Chilean military. Navy , at the front as the senior service, very British is style the Army were still wearing the Pickelhauben or Kugelhauben and doing the Stechstritt . Would have been a nightmare for the parade organisers/music director.

Their earliest pilots learned the job in France as early as 1913, well before the jet age.

The real start of what is now the Fuerza Aérea de Chile was at the end of WW2. They use and have used both US and British built airplanes, with French helicopters.

But their official march is definitely as German as can be: "Alte Kameraden" !

    cheers,
