I think I know what you mean Brian. I've had that, sometimes you seem to be stuck at a level, or even struggle to finish something that you used to manage before. Sometimes, the figure (or tank...) in front of you doesn't look as you imagined it, even though you nailed the previous ones. It happens.
I found the best way (for me anyway), is to accept whats what, and try a different subject. Different tank, different figure, different era, different galaxy... (no, seriously lol). I have quite a few vehicles in my cabinet, which I'm not 100% happy with, but they are ok, in their own right. Trying something different, takes the pressure off, and brings back the joy. And the joy brings back the results.

As for your Charles, he looks good, but I think that sometimes its good to go back to simple, and don't "try to hard". I would paint the face with a simple colour like Army Painter "Kobold Flesh", with a quick wash of Citadel "Reikland Flesh". Its not sophisticated, but it works. The Black looks good, but maybe a local wash of diluted Black Ink will pop things like the shoes and the hat?

Hi Ho ancient one. I'd like to echo some of Henks observations in my own sympathetic, empathetic and supportive way........
GET A FECKIN GRIP ON YOURSELF :D
Personally I don't give a damn what you do but if you think for a second you're lumbering me with Mitchell and Tamburinni, think again.... I know where you live :D
Seriously though this is a belter and unmistakably your work, black is the new orange and this needs no tweaking.
