    Hello everybody,

my name is Martin, I´m from southern Germany. I tried painting miniatures, inspired by my granddad, some 30 years ago. This was obviously before the Internet and I had no one to ask how to do it (my greatfather was not the very scholarly type). I started with oil paint and very soon, not very satisfied with the outcome, I laid down the hobby.
But Miniatures never left my mind and I collected quite an amount of unpainted ones.
Just 2 years ago I found myself with some time on my hands and started anew, this time with acrylic paints. Currently I mainly paint plastic figures, mostly 35mm and some busts.
I have a Brother of St. John and Islamic Cavalery of Pegaso in wait for me since a few years which I plan to paint when I feel my skills sufficient to do so.

Glad to be here, I already detected town of interesting posts and pictures and amazing artists!
It´s a little confusing and overwhelming in the beginning, but that will pass!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I already did a lot of reading, there is really a ton! of information here. absolutly great.
As I said, I´m still a beginner. I have quite a collection of 75 an 90 mm but by now I mainly paint smaller (cheaper) ones. Those two are my latest. The tapestry is freehand, I intend to use it for a Diorama and the lovely lady is 28mm hero scale by reaper.
@theBaron I´m from Ingolstadt, some 80km north of Munich!

I looked around and not quite sure where to ask the question as a newbie to the hobby for miniature companies I can´t find anything on the internet or I find the company but not the mini. Background is that I inhereted a lot of models from my grandfather and have no real idea of them.
They are from companies named White Models, Hussar, Almond, Barton, Albion, Talisman and so on.
Is there a Forum site where I can post names and pictures and don´t annoy people with those "no clue newcomer" questions?

Martin, take some photos and post in General Figure Talk. All of these older companies are well known to many of us so you'll get all the information you need.
    Cheers
