    Hi everyone

This is now on my bench being basecoated , it was done by my sadly missed good friend Geoff Charman

    https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/col-edmund-munro-bust-by-mmm.117755/

Sculpted by Pavol depicting the ill fated commanding officer of the 35th Regt of Foot Colonel Munro

A character from the great film The Last of the Mohicans ( fabulous music as well ) known as "Grey Hair" to the Indian enemy's

In the film the Regt are given buff facings this is incorrect as the 35th were one of only a few with Orange facings

This is the colour I will use , other than that it's a straight paint !

Here's some references I will use

    Stay tuned...pics later !

    Happy benchtime

Hope we see your version as well ....you could of course use any facing color ...just ignore the face sculpt being from the LOTM

    Happy benchtine

I certainly could do, but since I purchased it because of its connection to LOTM, I think I shan't.

Just a thought, Kev, but if the regimental lace is white, wouldnt the officer's braiding and lace be silver, rather than gilt...?(y)

You are right ...I was thinking of the same thing last night , looking at media reviews..they consider the uniform ". Purely fictitious"

If you want to keep to film then gold lace if to the Regt Silver ....interesting tge neckcloths were lack not white linen as well .....see below

Guess which way I am going ....

Cheers Sven good to have you comment my friend

Cheers Mike ...it's far removed from the film uniform ...now a 35th officer who happens to look like a actor ! ...but enjoying it

Further to Steves post , looking at Carl Franklins excellent book British Army Unifirms 1751-1783

Page 356 "Infantry officers were required to wear a gorget of gold or silver according to regimental metal"

The 34th's was silver so that's what the gorget will be

"Ribbons were normally the same colour as the facings" ....orange and with rosettes being same

The Aguilette on the model needs detailing up more so that's my next job !

    Happy days
