    EURO 2021 CANCELLED
It is with sadness that I have to announce that Euro Miniature Expo scheduled for 18th/19th September 2021 will not now go ahead.
My decision is based upon several factors due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions:-
    1) Lockdown in the UK is only being gradually & slowly lifted. It is subject to review & the roadmap may be pushed back depending on what happens going forward. Whilst the vaccination programme is going well, it is clearly going to take some time to roll out fully.
    2) The Leas Cliff Hall together with Hotels, Restaurants & Pubs in Folkestone are currently still closed with no firm date as to when they may be able to re-open
    3) There is no non-essential travel allowed in the UK & there is a quarantine/self-isolation requirement on any people who can come into the UK from abroad with no date as to when it may be lifted. Various Government ministers have also said that it is not advisable to book a summer holiday at the moment.
    4) The Government has made it clear that Social Distancing & Mask wearing is with us for the foreseeable future. This makes it very difficult to hold the show as there would have to be a lot of restrictions and controls at the venue (adding substantially to the work & potentially the cost).
    5) There is a possibility that many modellers will lack the confidence to attend the show due to concerns over health issues which also makes it difficult to be certain that the show is viable in the current circumstances.
    6) To be sure of booking the venue, I would have to pay a substantial deposit to secure the dates now with no guarantee that the show can go ahead or (if it could) that it can be done in a way that makes it viable to do so.
Taking all of this into account, I have decided to cancel the show this year. The show needs to be an enjoyable social experience where worries about the restrictions & the Pandemic are not an issue.
It’s not a decision that I have taken lightly but there is so much uncertainty at the moment, it is impossible to plan ahead.

This is a sound decision. I'm sure nobody likes it but in the current circumstances we cannot be surprised.
    I've already said 2021 is a write-off.
We will come back though, I have no doubt.

A sound decision by Steve, this year is a write off and who knows what will happen with the virus mutating meaning more vaccinations in the autumn. If we are sensible this year there is a better chance of some sort of normality in 2022.

I will be amazed if more announcements like this don't follow.

Just wondering if there are any discussions happening in regards to a 2022 version of the exhibition in Folkstone? Merely curious and hopeful I can start making some travel plans.

Suggest you contact Steve kirtley at s.k miniatures, although if anything is likely to happen for 2022 l suspect it would have been announced by now.

Wonderful show and great memories from the very first show onwards. All good things come to an end and the last few shows were a shadow of former glory in spite of Steve, Richard and Adrians efforts to revive it. Eindhoven and Brexit were really the end for Euro.

Heigh-ho:( . Happy times remembered. Entirely understandable given the present uncertainty around just about everything.
