    'Afternoon, everybody!
Apologies in advance for asking on one forum about another, but for the past week, when I try to access the HZ-Forum, a German figure forum, I get error 404.

I hadn't heard that the forum was going away or that there were other changes, but, I haven't visited it all too frequently since Conny Schulte handed it off. Traffic really dropped there, so I could see if it has finally closed.

But it could be something else, too. I use this URL: http://www.hz-forum.eu/forum_2012/forum.php

Is anyone here on the Planet also a member or visitor there, and might know what's going on with that forum?

    Best regards,
    Brad

    Hi Brad,

Conny Schulte, who hosted the HZ-Forum, closed it down a couple of years ago. So, it's gone, together with the HvB show...

The last admin Ulrich Biroth (PF member) announced in December 2020 that he will close the forum down due to few contributions and activities. I guess he did in February 2021.

Ah, thanks, Martin! I missed that announcement. But that just shows how dormant the forum had become. I was a member since 2008 or so, and remained a member up to its close, through Conny's "retirement" and handing it off to Ulrich, to the present. But yes, it definitely was in decline, with fewer and fewer active posts. I checked in every week or so.

    Schade.

[quote="Schade.[/quote](y) I regret that likewise but have to admit that I understand Ulrich`s decision and feel guilty that I could not contribute much due to job obligations vs workbench...

Yes, it's pretty much the same reason Gray closed up the Timelines Historica forum, too. Declining participation, compared to increased costs to maintain the forum (not just money but the effort) meant it was no longer worth the effort.

However, we have this forum, and others that are still very active.

    Prost!
