The BBC are actively making people depressed and have been doing this since the start of the pandemic. Day after day after day the regurgitate the same negative stories, they search out ‘guest speakers’ who are anti government or anti policy yet they never balance the stories with the positive views.

It's not so much "Gradgrindian" as simply a product of their federal system. To a lesser extent a similar thing has happened in the UK as a result of health policy having been devolved to the Scottish, Welsh and N.I. governments.

But if you want to talk about "Gradgrindian", then look no further than our own government's approach, much of which has been dictated by a slavish devotion to mathematical models, some of which have been wildly inaccurate and/or out of date.

Rather more heat than light generated here...but whatever your views forget the media,
forget the politicians, forget the deny-ers, and just remember there are a lot of people out
there quietly doing their best - often against the odds - to pick up the bits and make things
    different.....

Interesting that we all seem old enough to be jabbed as part of the at risk group though......;)

I got a sort of commemorative sticker pasted to me afterwards. Mrs. Fogie was frankly a bit miffed
that she wasn't given one......I told her it was because I was especially brave !!!:joyful:

I almost feel disadvantaged being in a low risk group. I’ll be locked in the house until late summer probably.

Which is a lesson in ‘be careful what you wish for’ by the way.
One of my wishes is to be able to spend more time at the bench. Well, I’m sitting at my work bench all day, but no painting is done due to “smart working”...

I took wholeheartedly to smart working 18 months ago.....I retired LOL....

I said the same things Adrian when I retired, but, it's NOT the same when you have all the time in the world to paint. I find any small excuse NOT to do some work, because it's become "The Norm" and NOT the pleasure it used to be. I still paint, but in between household chores. Ray
