Good to see a Imp Gd certainly looks like he's been on many campaigns

Like the rank and sevice cheverons ....and the medal ....as woukd be expected of this veteran

Will paint up well , might be tempted to add side whiskers

Plenty of references of course good one below

    Thanks for sharing

Lovely sculpt with uniform and bearskin details etc. but there are 'veterans' and then there are ...'veterans'! This face looks like that of someone about 80 years old; hardly a campaigning or still serving age.

Hello, Gary! The average life expectancy for men in France in 1825 was 38.5 years. At 45, the men looked old.

    Andrey.

Being honest, the men even then in the 19th Century and despite lower life expectancy and diet issues etc. still did not look that old. There are some well publicised old photos available showing French veterans of the Napoleonic Wars being photographed in their old uniforms around the 1850'-60's period and none of them look as old as the face on this bust and by then, even the youngest of Napoleon's veterans must have been around 65 years old.

The face on this bust looks more like the guy we keep seeing here on PF as the crying Soviet WW2 vet holding the flowers....and how old is he?

Each to their own however as I said, the rest of the bust is superb in terms of uniform and bearskin details.

It will be interesting to paint, maybe a bit of artistic licence but it will paint up nicely, like the wear on the straps saves having to use paint to Invent them
