I decided to have a break from planet figure back in march, after 9 months away, ive deided to come back and share some of the stuff ive been up to,i thought id post up this little conversion ive done with a pegaso bust depicting a drummer boy from the penninsular war 1812.
As i have a big interest in the waterloo campaign i thought id change and add a few things to bring him up to spec.
The changes i have made from the original bust is to convert the original headress to the shako type of the time, the plume was moved to the side and new cockade added, cords have not been added as these were sometimes absent on campaign.
the normal shako plate was left off and i added the regimental number instead,i prefered this to the normal plate you see i most images.
drumstick holders were added to the drum belt and a drum was scratcbuilt out of plastic-card and lead wire.
the shoulder wings were changed and converted to the 1815 pattern.
All these changes have been made with references taken from the excellent book by C.E.Franklyn - British Napoleonic Uniforms.
i hope the members enjoy the photos
    many thanks Smudger

Superb work as always Brian, l love the way you add a unique slant to everything you do, your pieces always seem to look as if they have jumped out of the pages of unseen waterloo. The genuine campaign look.

Good to see you back mate hope Xmas has been enjoyable and look forward to meeting up somewhere in 2021.

Sorry to hear about the family problems Brian l know you are extremely close to your mum and dad. Let's hope 2021 proves to be a better year for us all. The hobby is a great way to switch off from the drama's of everyday life mate.

I think things will start to turn round mid year, perhaps there will be 2/3 shows to visit in the 2nd half.

    Take care Brian.

There you go mate. Instantly recognisable as your work.
Superbly realistic, a fine job on the never easy yellow.
