    Hi Julian and All,

So despite my best efforts, I can't find any decent lamp with halogen light. You can see a standard LED tabletop white lamp which was not bright enough.

I'vefinally settled on a standard Ikea Tertial anglepoise worklamp with 15W Philips light bulb. Very bright but with CR of 80. It's acceptable to me as I will paint the non-critical parts at night and check under normal daylight. Cost is est 12 USD for lamp and 1 USD for the bulb.

Glad to see I could help Victor...
LED lamps with high CRI are getting cheaper everyday, so soon we all can replace the obsolete halogens and have easier access to correct light source.
When I find some halogen desk lamp on the web for sale I might post here to keep the post alive.
