    Hi All

Please see the latest release from Bonaparte Military Models. This is a Mounted Napoleonic Mameluke Standard Bearer Bust. This is sculpted by Richard Bailey and is cast from resin and white metal. This is 230mm scale, and this is a very large piece as you can see next to the bottle of Vallejo.

    This is available now from:

    https://www.bonapartesmilitarymodels.co.uk/mameluke-standard-bearer-mounted-bust-375-p.asp

For a limited offer price of £79 for the first week, it will then be £89.

    Thanks
    Paul

Impressive, as an overall piece but I do feel that the horse's head looks way too small....(y)

Super idea for a release and if it’s as good as the Bavarian Chevaulegers bust then it’s going to be a winner. Looks like a hefty piece of resin to boot.

With the horsetail banner (Arabic "thug") you have some artistic freedom ...

Lovely. Just lovely. This speaks to me. (it says "buy me now, you know you want to") That's why I'm on this forum - it reassures me that I'm not the only one who hears those voices ;)

A most impressive piece, but too large for me space wise at the moment. The horse's head does look small but maybe it is an arabian?

Very distinctive shape to an Arabian horse... 99136716_1244841889180196_1599934266186137600_o.jpg

Excellent as always and having ridden the Arabian breed for years I can confirm the head is the right size.
Looking forward to seeing it painted.
    Cheers from sunny Cumbria! NOT!!!!;)

Agree with that...don't know whether this is a distortion of the photo or something, but it somehow jars.

The sculpting is outstanding. The horse's bridle isn't quite right and the sword will come out of its scabbard unless the lower sling is lengthened so that the scabbard lies more vertically (Royal Navy swords have the inner part of the guard hinged to clip onto the scabbard to stop the sword leaving the scabbard whilst at sea).

Nice kit Bonapartes, the only things that worry me a bit are that the muzzle of the horse looks too square to my mind and the top lip/nostril look out of proportion with the rest of the head. Apart from those bits the rest looks fabulous..........dom
