Hi guys - final pics prior to priming. Small base made from foamboard, covered with Milliput, with small stones and cat litter for the rocks. All sealed with thinned PVA.

    Thanks for looking(y) s1.jpg s2.jpg s3.jpg s4.jpg s5.jpg s6.jpg s7.jpg

I have another photo and a description of the action depicted, taken from the Osprey book, " Indian Infantry Regiments 1860 - 1914" The description of the action is what prompted me to make the vignette(y)

That is an absolute stunner Steve - even more so because you've sculpted the piece entirely from scratch. I bow to your skills, brilliant work.

This has turned out great Steve. The two figures work really well together and a great little vignette. Looking forward to seeing these painted up.

Whilst researching these figures, I have looked long and hard at the two contemporary photos and I feel that the two pouches on the equipment appear to be brown leather, rather than black...? Especially in the first photo, if you look closely, the expense pouch (the one that hangs on the right) seem to be dull and scuffed. The thing that makes me come to this conclusion is that much of the Indian army equipment was locally made, especially pouches, valises and haversacks, consequently, many of the other regiments of Guides and the Frontier Force had brown pouches, not black. The illustration in the first pic is the one that appears in the Osprey book and shows regulation black pouches. I think I shall opt for dark brown/scuffed when it come to paint!! Another thing which is a little confusing on the Osprey pic is that the turban appears to be white. In reality, it should be a light grey/blue and some clearly have a pattern on the right hand side and others are plain...!!(y)
