Bit of a quick update on this, I've sanded the helmet down to roughly the shape I'm after, not sure if it's correct but I think it's close, added a sawn off cocktail stick on the top as the basis for the spike to be added, all comments will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi Jimbo

Looking better ...nice helmet .....think the turban needs more shaping at the back perhaps

    Nice whiskers you've added

    Happy sculpting

Yeah I agree Kev ref the turban/Paggri, I also need to thin the thickness of it down a bit too, will sort that tomorrow, I think I'm right in saying that the turban/paggri was not a fitted item as per the foreign service helmets of later 19th cent, I think it was more of a loose fitted cloth that was added to the helmet, judging by old photos of seen, I'm not really sure?..??

The pugri on this helmet was a silk scarf loosely wound around, with a twist front and back (the loose ends were tucked in). The pics Nap posted were stitched in place at manufacture, to emulate this affectation... Hope this helps(y)

Thanks Steve, that has helped me, not sure if I should strip the Pagri off and start again or just thin it down?

It's coming off...So when you say a twist front and back I presume then that the pagri looked the same front & back with that diagonal cross over of the silk? is that right?
