Here's an update on this wee project.

Still a fair bit of work to do but I'm enjoying messing..

For the cuirassier hores I have had a go at making the horses bits.

Beautifully painted - I find red very difficult to get right. The pose is more artistic than realistic, but they make a well matched pair.

I don't mind the artistic pose of figures as it is the paint that brings it to life, although some of the work I have done is to attempt to give movement..... hopefully.

As for reds I tend,and to pick 3 : light, medium and dark...ish and go from there.

Check references there. That method of holding the reins was used by British cavalry but I believe the French did not use the snaffle reins when riding.
