    Beautifully painted - I find red very difficult to get right. The pose is more artistic than realistic, but they make a well matched pair.

    Thanks for your input guys, appreciate it.

    I don't mind the artistic pose of figures as it is the paint that brings it to life, although some of the work I have done is to attempt to give movement..... hopefully.

    As for reds I tend,and to pick 3 : light, medium and dark...ish and go from there.

    great work so far - really dynamic.

    i hope i'm not 'teaching granny to suck eggs' but I thought this photo may be useful when you do the reins of the Cuirasser.

    Check references there. That method of holding the reins was used by British cavalry but I believe the French did not use the snaffle reins when riding.
