Thanks Mike! The Scots Grey has indeed made it into my queue. :) There are a few in front of it though.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Steve!

Married and raising two kids back then, these kits were affordable and well done. Fortunately, I bought more than one of each, so they still sit in my Gray Army waiting to be painted. Since Washington was released in '74 and I turned 74 this week, I thought it only appropriate. :);)

    Actually a series 77 classic is next. It'll be a surprise. :)

Being a hobby hoarder, of sorts, has served me well in my retired years. However, I also parted with many kits over the years. I smiled as I gave them away, but it was quite painful. :)

Happy days indeed, judging by the number of replies to this post it gives an insight to the average age of the "modern" modeller, I wonder what the combined age would be?

    Hi Ken,

A wonderful nostalgic build. I had an old Historex pyrogravure until that gave up the ghost.
Then I bought another exact same pyrogravure some years back from a new company. It's a wonderful tool - completely therapeutic.

Unfortunately, that coy does not seem to sell the pyrogravure anymore. http://www.landmproducts.co.uk/

Thanks Victor! You can buy inexpensive wood burning tools but the key for me is the ability to vary the temperature like a true pyrogravure. Luckily my old, stand alone, dremel speed control works fine for that purpose.

One of the first figures I ever did, I think the first mounted one. The very first two were the Grenadier Guard and Coldstream Guard that came in a bubble pack on a card. A great build! I may need to get one out for nostalgia's sake. Thanks for the inspiration!
