Won't it be difficult to transfer any badges from the greaseproof to the arm?.....I've never tried that method, I presume you transfer it while it's still slightly soft..new one on me mate as I scratch me head!(y)

After a trial .....it will be more awkward ...so holding the head and underneath ...carefully and praying the head won't fall off ...lol,

I have sculpted the backing for the single chevron first , will let it dry overnight the add the actual stripe

....here's a couple of pics that show how large the main badge was in the first ( later date ) and how thin the cheveron was as in 2nd pic for our aporox period

    image.jpeg image.jpeg

These are the badge refs I am using my thought is the actual badge would be worked on a backing as well so I will do that first then the details

    image.jpeg

Using this original Victorian Inf Regt badge ( 101st ) as a ref

    Thanks for looking in

    Happy benchtime

Photo looks unusual & interesting with his medals pinned to his left sleeve - bet everyone was pleased when court mounting was invented!

I am certain these are regimental and shooting/ musketry medals as that's where we normally see them being worn

That’s something I didn’t know Kev, thanks for the heads up. It would also account for him holding the rifle in the photo.

    Cheers, Chris.

He's looking really good Kev.......shame you've a laurel leaf too many?...........;) (only joking) I bet you've got putty everywhere..up yer nose, in yer ear..up yer..errr better not go there!
Keep at it mate and glad to see you're letting it harden piece by piece, it's the only way to play it safe and prevent smudged work as I have managed to do time and again(y)
    Cheers

Kev, is it me or just the camera angle but is that single stripe beneath the crossed swords a little "thick" looking..ie coming out from the arm if you catch my drift?
