A few weeks ago, the Greek company Teapot Miniatures released its first historical bust, which we are examining today.

It is the bust of the famous Italian opera composer Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (1813-1901), sculpted by Sergey Alekhno.
The bust comes in two different versions: one with Verdi wearing a high hat and scarf around his neck and the other with a bow tie, without a hat. Both choices are based on well-known photos and paintings of the composer.
Note ! These are two different kits.

    Choice A :

    Choice B :

The kit comes in a black square cardboard box, with a large picture of its contents and a full display of its features, on the left. At the top right, the sign "Stop Piracy - Support Art and the Hobby" is justified and underlines the responsibility of all of us.

The molding is done in two basic pieces of torso and head (+ hat in the corresponding kit). They are of excellent quality, without bumps, bubbles, casting lines or other imperfections.
The simple and clean lines of the miniature, lead the hand into easy painting and therefore make this bust perfect choise to any beginner modeler who wants to work on a large, easy bust. But even the experienced painter , who wants a fast-paced model or a refreshing change from military or fantasy kits to a political one, will find extremely interesting and fun to deal with this bust. The color choices are few, but they can certainly bring a harmonious and elegant effect. Suggested colors for the jacket are men's clothing colors of the time: Dark, heavy colors such as black, gray, blue, brown, dark green, monochrome or with light colored stripe, burgundy bow tie and off-white scarf.

The face is expressive, of course looks a lot like Verdi as we know him from photos and paintings, but at the same time can depicts any European middle-aged bourgeois man of the 19th century.

With or without hat, the choise is yours; but you certainly have to paint it while listening to Nabuco, Rigoletto or La Traviatta !

Perfect fitting of the parts :
