I'm back in the bust addiction mode, the cracking bust of CGS's Imperial Guard Artillery Officer arrived this morning from Steve Kirtley and what a super sculpt it is from Carl Reid as we have seen from other Planeteers who have done or doing him.

It comes with a nice ref. pic on the guide.

The seven pieces in the box have now very carefully had the pouring blocks removed and sanded down, holes drilled for holding rods and washed.
Now leaving them to dry before applying a coat of primer later this afternoon, Cannot start applying any coloured stuff until the weekend as I have a Hospital appointment tomorrow and that involves two 25 mile bus trips. So roll on Saturday.

    Cheers

It's indeed a masterly sculpted and casted figure.
Got it yesterday, and my brushes thrilling in the holder for painting it.

Thanks mate, I shall probably only be in there 10-15 mins and it's an hour and a quarter bus journey each way, still the coming back trip will be free with the bus pass, going up is before the time the pass starts.

He does look good on primer, plus I had to do something, so the eyes are nearly finished before I do the face Saturday.

So the earlier bus is a 'twirly'?

I'm still waiting for my knee replacement consultation (now over 12 months and three cancelled appointments... this is what the NHS has come to)

I was like that with my gall bladder removal until I was blue lighted into A&E three times.

Managed to get in early at the hospital, a super bus connections coming home so managed to get some base Artist's oils on his face.

Still needs a bit more detailing once the paint has dry a bit.

Progress today, blocking in some of the base colours before continuing with washes after the rest of the uniform colour blocking.

Thanks Nap, I'm pleased the way he is getting on, I have been darkening up the fur on the headgear with the Earth and Nuln Oil Citadel Shade Washes this morning and outlining the lacings on the Dolman and Pelisse with Vallejo MA Signal Blue and adding various areas with base colours for the collar and cuffs.

Many thanks Marc, he is a nice one to do with quite slow fiddly work around the lacing on the Dolman and Pelisse, but will/should be worth it when completed..

    Cheers
    Geoff
