Beautiful piece, the colour of the busby & richness of the colours of the lacework are fantastic.

Superb painting on the gold lace, looks top notch, (what did you use). The uniform colours are just right.
I am tempted with this bust, will have to wait and see.

Hi Bob and thanks.....as you know I paint in oils....and recently I have been collecting some Oilbrusher tubes of oil paint made by Mig productions...they are thinned oil paint already to use..and come with a brush...I only use the brush supplied for putting the paint onto my pallete... then use my usual brushes.....in this case I used Oilbrusher gold and Oilbrusher orche. applying in light strokes with a fine brush. After letting this settle for a while I added Oilbrusher yellow to the mix and again going over the area......these Oilbrushers paints are thin but I find the invaluable when you require only small amounts of oil colour....(y). Thank you Neal.....I added these to my usual tubes of oils and find them great for small areas such as high lighting and shadows...if you Google Oilbrusher paints you will see who supplies them...I usually get mine from Scalemodelshop who carry the range...some unusual colours...
try a couple of tubes and have a practice....their metallic oils are very nice and mix easily...this is not to detract from metallics which I also use..
The buttons on the uniform are Darkstar metallic gold braid....excellent....regards Mike(y)
