And what came out of me? Ööööh, nothing, because I threw myself out of the rating by own stupidity!

When registering, you got a small number to stick to the pedestal in an envelope - and I 'd received the envelope, but not opened it and delivered Aksinja and Grigory without registration number.

    Too stupid to eat bread!

Anyway - it was a nice weekend!

Excellent! Finally somebody is doing a rugby miniature! Very nicely done, even if a bit too late for the current World Cup in Japan...
Who will bring this one out?

BTW Thanx for the images, Martin. Much appreciated.

    Cheers

    BTW:

    I noticed three things:

Fantasy figures have "flooded" the competition! There were a good three times more fantasy exponats at the start than historical ones ...

The hobby section "military vehicles" is also moving rapidly in the direction of fantasy, only that this is called "What if ..." or "WW2 1946".
There are more and more "paper-tanks" issued (and offered by the manufacturers), of which little more than a sketch (and sometimes not even that!) has existed.

The competition is much too full - at least for the figures! The exhibits stood in three rows one behind the other on the presentation tables! How to work as a juror / jury still somewhat differentiated - I do not envy the boys and girls.

(But the many photographers were happy about this!)

Can't be more agreed with you then this. I only spend a half hour into the competition room. Nothing to see, but only backs of man, discussing the figures without moving themself.
It's therefore that the competition room is closing at Saturday afternoon to let the jury do his work.
I just only go on sunday......
I looked closely to your figure. Its in life better then in the picture's. Find no entry number on it....

Thank you for the pictures !
I saw in some pictures from other persons something that frighten me :
One visitor is trying to take pictures of some figures in the third row while holding her phone with one hand and trying to click with the other hand, all of that while having her hands just a few inches over some figures from the first row !
what if she drops the phone ??? 'sorry' would not be enough ! call me paranoic, but from now on, I will present my figures under glass or acrylic !

I can echo the comment about the phone. A lot of entrants were unpacking their boxes on the display tables, inches away from figures already on display! It's like "I'm getting MY figures out sod what damage I might do to other peoples work". I always find a quiet corner away from straying feet and hands, unpack, and bring the figures to the presentation tables. A few spare tables to do this would be helpful.
But, a great show very busy and some outstanding work on display.

I was there on Saturday, had nice chats with Steve Kirtley, with Dino Pivato and at the MMM stand, but apart from that I must agree with the previous comments. Fantasy was dominating everything, even the trade stands and certainly the contest area. The black walls and sharp spotlight and the massive crowd didn't make for leisurely viewing the goods. In the contest area I mostly saw broad backsides of eager photographers blocking the view, my wife tripped over a guys legs who was kneeling to have a good shot at some figures. Clearly people prefer to see the world through their smartphone screens!
It made me long for the Leas Cliff Hall, were one can take a breath of fresh sea air between bouts of admiring and buying!
Frankly, I don't think Veldhoven is the perfect venue for next year's World Expo.
    Just my thoughts, of course.

Quote from Pierre.......It made me long for the Leas Cliff Hall.

This will be a welcome comment for Steve Kirtley and bodes well for Euro Miniature Expo in September 2020.

Thanks Martin, I have written to them as nothing appears on their website at the moment only the original 54mm models.

    Best regards,

The models are 54mm and the masters were sculpted by Alan Ball - IMHO one of the highlights of this show.
They are shown as "in stock" here: https://shop.kingsfigurines.com/fr/21-historic-serie

Hi Martin, I think it must be the photography that has misled me, if you look at the picture posted by Martin Rohmann at the top of the page they look massive against the human figure in the background obviously an illusion.

I sent Kings a mail and they pointed me to the website:ROFLMAO::D....I was quite looking forward to buying some large scale musketeers...LOL

Take care my friend. See you at WE next year.
