WIP 1/16th ? Bengal Lancer

I have found at the back of a shelf a part painted bust of this Bengal Lancer that I had forgotten about, I think he is about a 1/16th one but just cannot remember the make but I think it was in one of Nap's garage sales.

The face had been done and with all the colours blocked in, but the dark blue was some how shiny so I have given him a coat of docrafts Artiste acrylic Night Blue which I know finishes as a lovely matt finish, also the shoulder scales a gave a wash of Citadel Nuln Oil.

He is now all dry so I can now mess about with him.

Finished my messing about, so shoulder scales highlighted, the red given a lighter shade and then pin-washed on the edges and shadow areas with very diluted Raw Umber Artist's Oils then dry-brushed on the high points with very little White Artist's oils using a flat brush , a bit old school I know but I think it works for me and gives me the result I like.

Thanks Tony, most of him I had already painted probably a couple of years ago but it had got at the back of a shelf and forgotten behind tins, etc. I just continued him.

Lovely little chap! It's from Amati I think, not sure about the scale maybe 1/12?

    Nice job Geoff.
I’ve got a spare one of this bust if someone is inspired by Geoff’s & wants to paint it too?

Thank you Bob, I couldn't find the uniform colours as displayed on the box, or for the plume, but did for that as I used.

    Hi Geoff

Just seen this mate ...thought you had finished it and I saw in a display at a show !

Was one of mine I think !

Nice work on this fellow , the skin tones and the turban look good

    Hope you enjoyed the painting

    Thanks for sharing

PS Pierre is right it's Amati ...scale is 1/12th although larger compared with more recent releases ...IMO !

Great job Geoff. Love the flesh tones on this and fine work on the head dress stripes. One of my favourite periods for figures.

Thank you Neal, he has a nicely sculpted face which helps a lot, never really know know the colours for the Indian skin but think I managed it with this one. I do struggle with stripes now but think it came off this time, I really like the Victorian era as well for uniforms as well.
